CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT is the fourth in the Shingo Workshop Series. This two-day workshop will integrate virtual classroom instruction with an exciting live virtual tour of the Paul Reed Smith Guitar factory in Stevensville, Maryland. This workshop builds upon the knowledge and experience gained in the DISCOVER EXCELLENCE* and Systems workshops. It begins by teaching you how to clearly define value through the eyes of your customers. It continues the discussion about ideal behaviors, fundamental purpose, and behavioral benchmarks and takes you deeper into the Shingo Model™ by focusing on the principles identified in the Continuous Improvement dimension.

One of the best features of Shingo workshops are the Go & Observe activities. We carry these valuable, engaging, and interactive experiences over to the virtual workshops as well. Renowned Shingo Facilitators Gerhard Plenert and Drew Butler will take you on a virtual tour of our host site with an on-site representative, where you’ll have the opportunity to see Shingo Principles in action in a real-world setting. They will take you step by step thru their journey and discuss the successes and problems they have faced along their way.

This two-day workshop focuses on the principles identified in the Continuous Improvement dimension of the Shingo Model:

  • Seek Perfection
  • Embrace Scientific Thinking
  • Focus on Process
  • Assure Quality at the Source
  • Improve Flow & Pull

The CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT workshop will deepen your understanding of the relationship between behaviors, systems, and principles, and how they drive results.

*DISCOVER EXCELLENCE is a prerequisite to this workshop.

What you will learn

  • How to clearly define value through the eyes of your customers
  • How to continue the search for ideal behaviors
  • How to define KBIs that will support the goals of the enterprise
  • A suggested set of CI behavioral benchmarks and benchmarks for your own organization

It takes you deeper into the Guiding Principles identified in the Continuous Improvement dimension.

Who should attend?

Senior leaders and Continuous Improvement professionals who have completed the Shingo DISCOVER EXCELLENCE workshop are encouraged to attend. The workshop is ideal for any professional seeking to create a sustainable culture of continuous business improvement for their organization.
