The Shingo Model™ has been adopted by hundreds of the world’s most-admired companies. Shingo Workshops provide practical insights and instruction, so you can use its guiding principles to achieve a culture of sustainable excellence in your organization.

This two-day workshop integrates classroom and on-site experiences at a host facility to build upon the knowledge and experience gained in the DISCOVER EXCELLENCE*workshop, and focuses on the Systems and Tools diamonds in the Shingo Model™.

One of the best features of Shingo workshops are the Go & Observe activities. We carry these valuable, engaging, and interactive experiences over to the virtual workshops as well. Renowned Shingo Facilitators Gerhard Plenert and Drew Butler will take you on a virtual tour of our host site with an on-site representative, where you’ll have the opportunity to see Shingo Principles in action in a real-world setting.

This is the second workshop in the series. It begins by explaining that all work in an organization is the outcome of a system. Systems must be designed to create a specific end objective; otherwise, they evolve on their own. Systems drive the behavior of people, and variation in behavior leads to variation in results. Organizational excellence requires well designed systems to drive ideal behaviors that are required to produce sustainable results.

You will join facilitators Dr. Gerhard Plenert and Drew Butler on a Virtual Go & Observe walk where they will take us step by step thru a host site’s journey and discuss the successes and problems they have faced along their way.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Discover three types of essential systems.
  • Explore five required communication tools for each system.
  • Learn how to create and use system maps.
  • Understand system standard work and how it drives improvement.

*DISCOVER EXCELLENCE is a prerequisite to this workshop.

Who should attend?

Senior leaders and Continuous Improvement professionals who have completed the Shingo DISCOVER EXCELLENCE workshop are encouraged to attend. The workshop is ideal for any professional seeking to create a sustainable culture of continuous business improvement for their organization.
